Olva Privacy Policy

Updated: March 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Olva Chrome Extension ("Olva", "we", "our", or "us") handles user data.

This policy applies to the Olva Chrome Extension and related services used by the extension.

1. Single purpose

Olva's single purpose is to help users capture visible LinkedIn profile information and manage networking outreach workflow in one place.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use Olva, we may collect:

  • Personally identifiable information: Visible LinkedIn profile data you choose to extract (for example: name, headline, company, location, profile URL, education, experience, contact links, and profile contact details shown on LinkedIn pages), and account email associated with sign-in.
  • Authentication information: Authentication and session tokens needed to keep you signed in and securely access your Olva account.
  • Personal communications: Outreach draft content generated or edited in Olva features (for example: email subject/body drafts).
  • Web history: LinkedIn profile URLs you choose to process with the extension.
  • Website content: Content visible on LinkedIn profile pages that you choose to extract.

Olva is not intended to collect health data, financial/payment card data, or lending/creditworthiness data.

3. How we collect personal data

Olva collects data through user-facing actions, including:

  • Sign-in actions: email OTP or Google sign-in.
  • Extraction actions: actions you trigger on LinkedIn profile pages.
  • User-requested features: sync, workflow updates, outreach drafting, and export.

Olva only processes LinkedIn profile pages when you actively use the extension on those pages. Olva does not collect unrelated browsing activity, and it does not extract data from pages you have not chosen to process.

4. How we use personal data

We use collected data only to provide Olva's disclosed features, including:

  • Extracting and structuring: visible LinkedIn profile information.
  • Storing and displaying: contacts and workflow status in the extension.
  • Syncing: contacts/workflow data to your Olva account when you are signed in and sync is available.
  • Generating and updating: outreach drafts when requested.
  • Exporting: your data (JSON/CSV) when requested.
  • Maintaining: authentication/session state and service reliability/security.

5. Disclosure of personal data

We do not sell user data.

We share user data only when necessary to provide or support the extension’s disclosed single purpose, including:

  • Olva backend services: contact/workflow/sync features.
  • Supabase: authentication and related backend operations.
  • Google: only for OAuth sign-in flows you initiate.
  • User-selected destinations: destinations you explicitly open (for example, Gmail/Outlook compose links).

We may also disclose data when required by law, to address abuse/security issues, or in connection with a merger/acquisition, as permitted by law.

6. Retention

We retain Personal Data only as long as needed to provide the service, support legitimate operations, and comply with legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of data and how you use Olva.

  • Information retained in local extension storage: Olva stores local records and session state in chrome.storage.local. Local data remains until you clear it, sign out/clear session, or uninstall the extension.
  • Information retained in server-side systems: If you are signed in and use sync-enabled features, data may be stored in Olva-managed backend systems (including Supabase-backed services). Account-linked data may be retained until you delete it, request deletion, or it is removed in accordance with legal or operational retention requirements.
  • Information retained in exports: If you export JSON/CSV, exported files are stored where you save them.

7. Data controls

You can:

  • Choose whether to sign in.
  • Trigger extraction manually.
  • Clear local records in the extension.
  • Sign out to clear local auth session data.
  • Export records to JSON/CSV.
  • Delete synced contact entries through available extension controls.

For account-linked data requests (including deletion requests), contact us using the details below.

8. Children

Olva is intended for professional networking use and is not directed to children.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for user data.

Data transmitted between the extension and our online services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Updated" date when changes are made.
